Onboarding Steps

Step 1:  Backgrounder on Client


  • Objective: Compile comprehensive background information to inform PR strategies.
  • Materials to Provide:
    • Client PR Mandate and proposed service overview and expectations. 
    • Company history, mission, vision, and values.
    • Key products or services and their unique selling points.
    • Relevant case studies, testimonials, or success stories.
    • Competitor matrix
    • Corporate presentation materials.
  • Expectations in this step: Align internal teams and set up for the client intake call.


Step 2: PR Intake Call with Client


  • Objective: Set up a call with the client and the PR Team to gather crucial information about the client’s goals, background, and expectations.
  • Type of Information to gather and questions:
    • What are your primary business objectives and goals for public relations?
    • Who is your target audience, and what key messages do you want to communicate?
    • What challenges are you currently facing in your communications strategy?
    • Have you previously engaged in PR activities? If so, what were the outcomes?
    • What are your expectations for media coverage and brand visibility?
    • Are there any upcoming events, product launches, or announcements we should be aware of?
    • Company history, mission, vision, and values.
    • Key products or services and their unique selling points.
    • Relevant case studies, testimonials, or success stories.
    • Competitors’ key messaging and PR activities.
    • Market positioning and differentiators.
    • Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis).
    • News Distribution
      • Do you have a news distribution channel set up (e.g., press release service, media contacts database)?
      • What channels do you currently use for distributing news and updates (e.g., email, social media, website)?
      • Are there specific metrics or goals you want to achieve with your media outreach?
